Performance
Both the 1.3 and 1.6 litre engine have been developed by and tuned by Lotus
meaning all GEN-2 models are both satisfying to drive and economical. The CAMPRO
engine, with 110 brake horse power on the 1.6, is highly responsive in low gears
for easy town driving and powerful at higher speeds, making it accomplished on
the motorway.
With steering fine-tuned by Lotus to deliver precision manoeuvring, the GEN-2 is an exciting yet reassuring drive. All models in the GEN-2 range have Anti-Lock Braking with Electronic Brake Distribution for maximum stability, even under heavy braking. Power steering and reverse distance sensors come as standard on all models and the suspension makes light work of bumpy roads.
Style
The talent of the Lotus Design Studio is unmistakable in the GEN-2's unique interior, with cowled dials and stylish centre console. A computerised fuel consumption system, air conditioning with pollen filters, electric front windows and Blaupunkt CD player with steering wheel audio controls come as standard. Opt for the GSX which also has climate control and electric windows throughout.
Comfort & Convenience
Designed to be as flexible as possible, the GEN-2's roomy interior comfortably accommodates five adults. There is a generous boot, plenty of storage space and the rear seats split 60:40, meaning you can carry rear passengers and large loads at the same time.
Safety & Security
The GEN-2 is designed for maximum safety and security at all times. You have the reassurance of twin air bags on all models, side impact bars, and crumple zones front and rear. All five seats have three-point seatbelts and there are electronic pre-tensioners on both front seatbelts. Remote central locking, a multi-function alarm and engine immobiliser all come as standard. Better still, with only one exposed lock and no external boot release, the risk of kerbside break-ins is reduced.
