With a 1.6 litre Campro engine, available in either manual or automatic transmission, the Impian is designed to balance power and performance with good fuel economy.
Ride and handling is the essence of a good driving car. Our collaboration with Lotus on the design and development of the chassis and suspension has given the Impian a distinctive edge over other saloons in its class.
The Lotus input has resulted in precision handling at all times - the straight-line handling, cornering and steering response are also clear evidence of the expertise of the Lotus engineers.
In addition to enhancing performance, good ride and handling improves the safety of the vehicle by giving a responsive, accurate drive.
Style
The Impian has new interior and exterior styling - on the outside it has a new front grille and back end and new alloy wheels, and is complemented inside with a new interior, available with either cloth or leather seats.
A brand new interior gives the Impian an added touch of luxury. Updates include a new dashboard fascia with wood trim and contemporary chrome dials on GSX models, which also have a stylish leather trim. GLS models have new-design fabric seats plus a new dashboard and instrument panel. Choose between a selection of four colours - a solid red and metallic shades including Sterling Silver and brand new Carbon Black and Aurum.
Comfort & Convenience
With generous standard features, the Impian is designed to make your journey as relaxing and comfortable as possible. Air conditioning will make sure even the hottest days are cool, and also helps to quickly de-mist your car on wintry mornings.
The height adjustable steering wheel and height and tilt adjustable driver's seat will ensure that the most comfortable seating position can be achieved to further enhance the driving experience. For rear passengers there is a folding centre armrest across the range with rear cupholders available on GSX models.
The input from Proton's sister company, Lotus, is evident in the suspension, which has been designed to minimise road noise and body roll, ensuring total occupant comfort during any journey.
The Impian can easily accommodate five adults with ample head and leg room for all passengers, and has a standard boot capacity of 410 litres. For longer loads the rear seats fold 60:40 to allow you to accommodate luggage and rear passengers at the same time.
Inside the cabin there are numerous thoughtful touches to make the journey easier for both driver and passengers. Electric windows and door mirrors plus steering wheel mounted audio controls for the Clarion radio/ CD player, and easy to reach dials make driving more comfortable, safer and stress-free.
Reverse distance sensors are standard across the range taking the guesswork out of parking in small or awkward spaces.
Additional touches include coin holder, assist grips, coat hooks and front and rear cupholders.
Safety & Security
Active safety features on every Impian include Anti-lock Brakes with EBD, plus side impact protection and energy-absorbing bumpers. Fog lamps are also available on all models. The precision handling aids safety through the ability to manoeuvre safely whilst maintaining full control over the vehicle.
Passive safety features include twin front airbags and seatbelts with pre-tensioners to help hold passengers in place in the event of an impact. Both rear doors have child locks for added peace of mind.
Every Impian has a multi-function alarm with ignition lock protection and engine immobiliser, plus key operated remote central locking to ensure that your car is as safe when parked as it is on the road.
